2010

What a year it has been! It's incredible to think that Kurrabunya Photography has only been up and running for a little over 12 months. During that time I have had the pleasure of meeting and capturing wonderful families, photographing beautiful baby bumps and then meeting the little ones when they arrive.

This year I also had the opportunity to attend and photograph rehearsals of some very talented local actors, document some amazing works of art by a very talented wedding cake creator, work with an artist on her Honours piece, and have some time in the Northern Territory to marvel at the spectacular country we live in. I was also extremely humbled and grateful to win a People's Choice Award for my image of children jumping in the mud (it's somewhere below!).

All in all it has been a fabulous, full on year. I am excited by what 2011 will bring, and already have a few projects in the pipeline.

Below are just some of the gorgeous baby bumps, new bubs, children, families and ladies I have worked with. Also a collection of personal and community projects.
Although I am not a wedding photographer, I was privileged enough to document the wedding day of two of my oldest and closest friends. Thought I'd pop a favourite in of that day too.

A big thank you for all the support and well wishes this year, I truly appreciate all your kind words.

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all, and may 2011 be full of good times, good friends and good fortune.

Miss Ellie

I caught up with Miss Ellie and her gorgeous mum the other day. How she has grown from when I first photographed her five months ago (funny that!). She is such a happy and settled bubba and was so patient when my own princesses wanted to 'help'. I couldn't believe it when halfway through the session she just dropped off to sleep (this is not typical behaviour for a bub this age, but what a treat!).
I must confess,  I was so close to changing her bulldogs outfit to a dragons one when I was processing these! Maybe next time...
It was lovely to see you again ladies, SBxx

Little one...

I had to share some shots from our recent trip to Canberra. I was honoured to photograph this little princess back in January when she was only 7 days old. She is so loved by her parents and big brother, and I  have loved watching her grow into such a precious little thing.
Thank you for having us C & K, I wish Canberra & Griffith were closer! SBxx

More Gorgeous Boys!

Last week I caught up with a lovely friend from Uni days whilst she was home visiting family and photographed her two little men. We had a great morning amongst the grape vines and even found some mud for one of the little guys to play in. I had to include the image down the bottom. It makes me smile and really needs the caption "Whooooah!

It was terrific seeing you again D, your boys are so cute! SB

And baby makes three!

The rain was absolutely hammering down last week when I visited this gorgeous little man and his lovely parents, but the weather didn't seem to bother him at all. He was so well behaved and after a little coaxing, he drifted off to sleep so we could get some of those beautiful sleeping shots.

Congratulations R & T, he is wonderful. Thank you for letting me capture this precious time in your lives. SB

Canberra Connection

Beautiful family and beautiful surroundings. That's how I would describe this session in Canberra last weekend. Such wonderful people to be around, I enjoyed every minute of shooting all three generations.

Thank you C & P and your wonderful daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! SB

Boys Boys Boys!

I met and photographed these three little boys recently and they were absolutely gorgeous! The two big brothers were so polite and happy to chat and really loved having their photo taken. The littlest brother even managed to drift off to sleep for some very cute snoozy shots.
Thank you C & J, your boys are wonderful.

The Tempest

Recently I was asked to photograph a rehearsal for GRAPA's (Griffith & Regional Association of the Performing Arts) upcoming production of The Tempest, by William Shakespeare. What a creative and talented bunch of people, both onstage and off. I was amazed and inspired watching all involved and cannot wait to see the production under the stars at the Cottage Gallery later this month.
Details about the performance can be found here.
Thank you Stella, John and the entire cast for being such a joy to work with. Good luck!

Perfect Fathers' Day Present

Late last week I photographed this gorgeous family, who welcomed their newest little man on Fathers' Day. They were absolutely wonderful. The light in their sunroom was incredible, just a dream to shoot in. I did leave their place and started thinking about how I could create something like that at home for myself!
The first shot below is one of my favourites ever. I think that these two could quite easily grace the cover of a women's magazine.
Thank you NB & SB, for allowing me capture this precious time in your lives.
